WAM新支部設立、日本にて小谷純司氏が指揮
WAMのインターナショナル・プレジデント、アッブ・ディクソンはWAMの最新の支部として
東京の小谷純司氏が日本支部を設立することを発表いたします。
小谷氏はこう説明しています。
「米国、英国、南米においてヴァレンチノことマスクマジシャンとFOXテレビジョンネットワークによるマジックの秘密の暴露が何度も放送された後、日本においてもマジシャン、芸能事務所、テレビプロデューサーの間で多くの"さる真似"者が、盲目的に」・・・追従してその場しのぎの小銭を稼ぐためにマジックという芸能を破壊する連中が出現したとのことだ。「日本のマジック界はそういう、兄弟とも言うべき同業者を何ら省みない輩のために深刻な状態に陥っている。本当は、同業者は貴重な秘密を分かち合っている存在であるというのに。」
「そこで、WAM会長のアッブ・ディクソン氏および名誉会長・ウォルター・ブラニー氏、また多大な時間と労力をさいてこの芸術を極めようとする日本の奇術家諸氏の要請により、私は日本代理人としてWAMの活動に加わることを決断いたしました。
その活動内容とは以下のとおりです。」
１）テレビやマスコミにおける奇術の秘密の暴露と闘う。
２）インターネットにおける暴露について継続的な監視を行う。
３）ディーラー広告における真実の有無および原案者の権利の保護について監視を行う。
ディクソン会長はこうコメントしています。
「小谷氏は日本において最も精力的な若手奇術家の一人であり、種の暴露行為と闘うことでマジックの驚きと醍醐味を守ろうと長い間、多大な努力を払ってきました。
日本のマジックの伝統と歴史というのは数世紀もさかのぼることができるものであり、
世界中が日本の名人に大きな尊敬の念を抱いています。
しかし残念なことに、かたく守られて何百万人もの子供・大人たちを驚嘆させてきたそれらの秘密はテレビ、インターネット、出版物などで現代的な暴露の波にさらされているのです。
WAMは日本に新しい支部を開設し、“闘うべき時に闘う”ためのあらゆる手助けを約束し、マジックという芸能を支援することで日本の奇術家の皆様へサポートをいたしたいと考えています。
私たちは小谷氏が有能な代理人・スポークスマンになってくれる確信しています。
彼の努力と、日本の皆様のお力添えをいただけることは私たちにとって

WAM NOW HAS A NEW OFFICE IN JAPAN UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF MU. JUN KOTANI
International President Abb Dickson of the World Alliance of Magicians proudly announced the newest Representation of their organization, Mr. Jun Kotani of Tokyo, Japan and the opening of a new office in that country.
After a series of magical exposures by the Masked Magician, aka Valentino and FOX Television Network hit the air in the United States, England and South America, there has risen a considerable number of "copycats" among magicians, entertainer's agencies and television producers in Japan, who decided to blindly "...follow the traitor in order to earn some quick bucks by destroying the Art of Magic."
Mr. Kotani says, " The Japanese magic community has been facing a serious because of such people who don't even think about caring their brother magicians who in fact share the precious secrets together."
" Being encouraged by Mr. Abb Dickson, the International President of the World Alliance of Magicians and Mr. Walter Blaney, President Emeritus of W.A.M., and with many requests of people in Japan who have dedicated much time and effort to the art of perfection, I have finally decided to join the continuing efforts of W.A.M. by taking the role of a Representative of W.A.M. for Japan for:
1. The Fight Against Exposure of Television and in the Press.
2. A continued ' vigil of the internet' for sites that might be considered an exposure of our Art.
3. Monitoring of Dealer's Ads to insure truth in advertising and representation of Inventor's Rights.
Mr. Dickson commented, " Mr. Kotani is one of the most energetic young magicians in Japan, and has worked long and hard to help preserve the wonder and amazement of the Magic Arts by fighting the Magical Secrets. The tradition and history of Japanese Magic goes back several centuries, and all the world has great respect for these Masters of the Arts.
Now sadly, those secrets wheich have been so sacredly kept and have brought wonder to millions of children and adults are facing modern-day exposure on Television, the Internet, and in the print. W.A.M. is honored to extend ites help to the Magicians of Japan by the opening of a new office, and vows to help ' fight the fight against exposure' in any way that it can, and promote the Art of Magic.
We know that Mr. Kotani will be a good representative and spokesman for our Worldwide Cause. We are very proud of his efforts and all the efforts of the Japanese people. In these troubled times, we NEED to keep a little Magic in all our lives."
